This course is designed to help non-native English speakers develop the communication skills they need to succeed in a professional setting.

The objective of this course is to:

  • improve your Business English language skills by developing your vocabulary;
  • enhance your reading and comprehension skills;
  • help you understand tone, style and knowledge of communication methods;
  • empower your business writing skills including emails, proposals, presentations, etc.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • describe things and events in the context of Business English;
  • make requests in the context of Business English;
  • support arguments in the context of Business English; and
  • use appropriate tone and style according to the context of Business English.

Course Structure:

The course will be divided into three modules, focusing on foundational business English, developing communication skills, and industry-specific vocabulary.

Module 1: Foundational Business English

  • Target Level: Beginner (A2)
  • Focus: This module will build a strong foundation in general business vocabulary and grammar.
  • Topics:
    • Business greetings and introductions
    • Numbers, dates, and time expressions
    • Giving and receiving instructions
    • The alphabet and basic pronunciation
    • Common business verbs (e.g., discuss, negotiate, schedule)
    • Business email etiquette

Module 2: Developing Communication Skills

  • Target Level: Intermediate (B1)
  • Focus: This module will develop your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a business context.
